01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Eddie is a lean, athletic built 3B/RHP prospect who has a talented skill set. As a switch-handed hitter, Eddie shows an above average skill set and similar abilities from each side of the plate. He has an open, athletic setup with low hands. Eddie has an activated load with on-time, controlled rhythm and a short, square stride. He has an on-plane swing path showing fast bat speed. Eddie uses his lower half throughout his swing and produces consistent contact. He is a line drive type hitter who has the ability to drive the ball to each gap with power. In the field, Eddie has an athletic ready position and he moves with smooth footwork. He has range in each direction laterally and fields the ball in a good position with soft hands. Eddie has a solid exchange leading into a loose arm action. He gets ride of the ball quickly and has the ability to adjust his arm angle depending on the play. On the mound, Eddie has a confident approach and he goes right at hitters. He works from the stretch with balanced, on-time mechanics. Eddie throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with a loose, quick arm action. He gets good acceleration and full extension with his arm. Eddie lands closed to home plate with a controlled landing. His fastball is heavy with good run movement at 84-87 MPH. His changeup is deceptive and his curveball shows sharp break. Overall, Eddie has an above average game on both sides of the ball and can make an impact at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
