06/19/2012 - College PREP - Charleston, WV Eddie is a thick, young 3B/RHP that will graduate in 2016. Currently, he projects slight better at 3B for the next level but has a lot of potential on the mound. Feet are active as he moves well laterally and makes the routine plays. He needs to attack ground balls more while presenting his hands out front, and improve foot speed to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate with carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate is where Flores shows best through an athletic setup with balance. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed to and through the ball at contact. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to stay back and transfer weight properly through his lower half. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 76-81 mph. Changeup is best off speed pitch as he maintains arm speed with slight fade. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break as he needs to work to stay on top of pitch more. He throws strikes with all of his pitches. With 4 years to further develop, Eddie has a ton of potential and will catch the eyes of the college coaches as he continues to improve.
