07/30/2020 - Summer Pro Training Experience - MD (HS) Eddie continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Eddie continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 74 mph. Fastball showed a range of 67-74 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

06/23/2019 - College PREP - Hagerstown, MD Eddie raised arm velocity to 71 MPH and lowered 60 time to 7.06 seconds during his last workout in Hagerstown, MD. In the OF, Eddie makes plays through playable footwork and hands. He tracks well, his exchange is clean, and he throws with consistency from a short arm action to his cut off man. More aggressiveness and playing more through the ball will help defensive abilities get better. On the mound, Eddie has good balance and he keeps his eyes on target. He separates his hands on time, has good direction toward home plate, and competes in the zone. If Eddie can loosen his arm action, use more lower body, and get more extension on his pitches, mound effectiveness can improve. Offensively, Eddie has an athletic stance, good balance, and a rhythmic swing. He finds the barrel, makes consistent contact, and he uses his lower body. Added bat speed and letting the ball travel deeper will help solid hitting get even better.

07/06/2016 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition Eddie is hard worker who always brings a positive attitude to the field. Defensively, he shows active footwork and hustles around the GB from right to left. He makes the plays with soft/sure hands and fires accurate throws across the diamond. Fielding the ball more out in front and working through the ball more will help to improve skills at 2B. With the bat, this righty has a balanced setup with a solid base. He takes a hack and hits the ball where it's pitched, spraying it to all parts of the field. Striding more square will help to utilize his lower 1/2 which will result in more pop. As a pitcher - Eddie works to a controlled balance point and has smooth separation. Delivery is quick/simple as he works at his pace. He stays directional and repeats well. FB is thrown for strikes as he works it in and out. A 2021 grad - Lough is a very coachable player who has upside with a ton of time to progress.

11/12/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Eddie is a R/R 2-way player 2B/RHP who continues to work on his skills. At 2B - Eddie hustles into a square fielding position and keeps his eyes down, tracking the ball into his mitt. He has good range to his glove-side and secures the ball with 2-hands. Working to play more on the balls of his feet will help to improve agility & lateral range. With the bat, he remains balanced with quiet actions. Swing is level as he connects and works to spray to all fields. Swinging on a shorter/more direct path with increased bat speed will result in increased power. On the mound, Eddie is a strike thrower who pounds the zone. FB ranges from 50-52 mph. Getting on a long toss program will help to build arm strength and add velocity on his FB. Lough (2021 grad) still has a ton of time to develop his skills as well as develop physically (get stronger).

03/22/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Bowie, MD Eddie is a young (2021 grad) 2-way player as a C/2B. Behind the dish, he sits in well and tracks the ball into his mitt with quiet actions. He works hard around pitches in the dirt and keeps them in front. Exchange is clean with accurate throws down to 2B. At 2B, Eddie shows active footwork and moves well into position behind the GB. He has good lateral range and is sure handed. With the bat, this RHH displays a square setup with a solid base. He swings on a level path and barrels the ball up consistently. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Catching
1. Arm strength (long toss)
2. Angles to block
3. Quicken exchange
Infield
1. More aggressiveness
2. Glove presentation
3. Play through ball
Offense
1. Bat speed
2. Lower 1/2 drive
3. Let ball travel

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
