06/05/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida Eddie is an athletic OF prospect who will graduate in 2020. In the field, Eddie shows fluid footwork and uses his speed to cover ground. He plays behind the ball well and makes a quick exchange, keeping his throws accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and drives through well with his lower half, driving the ball to the opposite field. Overall, Eddie is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his senior season.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Eddie continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he continues to shine. He utilizes his quick/aggressive feet as he moves well laterally, displaying range (6.80 60 time) as he covers a ton of ground. He displays smooth/clean actions with hands/feet working well together through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and on line carry on his throws. Eddie has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

10/06/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures West Eddie is an athletic OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the field, Eddie shows fluid footwork and uses his speed to cover ground. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with good carry through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed and good extension through the ball, leading to loud contact and line drives into the gaps. Overall, Eddie is a talented prospect who should find success in this, his junior season.

10/18/2015 - College PREP - Santa Rosa, CA Eddie is a talented 2-way player LHP/OF who can swing the bat. Offensively, this lefty stands in well with an athletic/balanced setup and simple/quiet actions. Hands are quick - whipping the barrel through the zone with speed and squaring the ball up consistently. He drives the ball to the gaps with pop (exit velocity = 85 mph). In the OF, he takes a quick first step with solid routes/angles to the fly-ball. He works into position behind the ball, secures it with 2-hands and gains ground toward his target with an aggressive crow-hop. On the mound, Eddie has an effective 3-pitch mix coming from an over the top arm slot. He works to a tall/controlled balance point and stays directional toward the plate - repeating his delivery nicely. FB tops out at 76 mph as he can spot it up well. Curveball shows 2/8 shape with good action while changeup is thrown with FB arm speed helping to create deception. He fills up the zone and throws strikes with all 3-pitches. Eddie is a versatile prospect who (only a 2020 grad) still has a ton of time to develop. He is one to keep an eye on in the years to come.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
