Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

07/28/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Eddie is a big OF/RHP who graduated in the spring of 2017 and will start his college career this fall. He shined at the plate during the event making hard contact consistently while having 3 hits and 3 RBI. He starts from an open stance and shows a violent swing through the zone firing his hands quickly. He takes aggressive swings, while firing his back side through the baseball helping to spray to all fields with power. In the OF, Eddie covers a lot of ground, while also making strong throws to bases. On the mound, he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot showing a fastball and slider. He pounded his fastball 81-84mph whiling being able to move it around the plate. He showed a slider as his out pitch, and commanded it for strikes. Eddie has the upside to have a successful college career.

06/05/2016 - College PREP - River Forest (Chicago), IL Eddie is a two way player in the 2017 class. An athletic player with a tall, long projectable frame. As a RHP, his fastball sits around 76 mph with run and a good down flight. Keeps his head still and eyes down on his target and finishes well. Mixes in a CB (63-66mph) with 11-5 tilt and medium break that moves well and keeps hitters off balance. Also throws a CH that ranges form 68-70 mph that deceives hitters with a fastball arm speed and stroke. He doubles as a very good OF and RHH. Defensively, he plays with a low approach, has a great first step and efficient footwork. Attacks the ball and plays through to deliver firm, accurate throws consistently. At the plate, he has an open stance, gets his hips through really well and flashes some next level pop. A solid lower half and good extension through contact allow for good pull side pop. A very versatile and athletic player who projects well at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
