01/27/2013 - College PREP - San Diego, CA Eddie is a thin, 2-way player who catches and pitches. Behind the plate, Eddie has firm hands, active feet, and he catches athletically. He blocks and receives well, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a short / quick arm with life to his target. More glove extension, blocking sooner, and gaining more ground will improve defense. On the hill, Eddie has a long arm action, a controlled balance point, and he keeps his eyes on target. He has good direction toward home, his command is solid, and he mixes his pitches well. Not throwing across his body, more glove side lead, and a better finish will improve abilities on the mound. Offensively, Eddie has a tall / open set-up, a short stride, and good balance. He is short to the ball, he tries to use all fields, and he uses his lower 1/2 well. Smoother rhythm and timing can help improve hitting abilities.
