11/10/2011 - Pirate City Select Training - 2011 (Pre HS) Eddy is a 2016 graduate who plays 2B and is a RHP. As an infielder he throws from a low 3/4 arm slot with short arm action and he is accurate to his target. Eddy has playable range and makes plays but he needs to keep his hands out front of his body, keep his glove palm facing the ball (flipping is bad) and play through the ball more. On the mound Eddy throws from an over the top arm slot, he displayed a controlled balance point, separation was on time, he showed smooth rhythm and he was in line to target. Eddy finishes too upright so needs to follow through more to maximize extension. At the plate he has an athletic stance, leg kick stride, stable balance, timing is good, he makes consistent contact, uses the entire field and his swing path is on plane. Most importantly he needs to smooth out his load to be more fluid and use his lower half more to maximize his power. Eddy has a lot of RAW talent to play baseball. If he smooths out his mechanics and fundamentals he can be a very good player in the future.
