02/28/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Davie, FL Eduardo continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a firm mitt but needs to present target earlier. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times showed in the 2.19 range with accuracy / carry on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. At the plate he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side.

11/07/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Pompano Beach, FL Eduardo is an athletic C prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. Behind the plate, Eduardo shows active footwork and is agile moving to block. He sits in an athletic stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate throws with carry through the 2B bag. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid to load and hits against a strong front side. He stays direct through the ball with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and great raw power. Overall, Eduardo is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Eduardo continues to shine on the diamond. At the plate, shows a squared setup. Hands are strong (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 2.27 range with accuracy and carry (84 mph velocity) on his throws.

01/26/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Delray Beach, FL Eduardo is an athletic and talented 2023 Catching prospect that continues to improve. Behind the dish, Eduardo starts in an athletic stance, he’s quiet to the ball, and controls balls in the strike zone. When blocking, he leads with his glove and tries to control the ball with his chest. When throwing, he has a quick exchange, proper footwork, and he makes accurate throws. At the plate, Eduardo starts in an athletic stance, he loads his hands back into the drive position, and he gets to balance at contact. He has quick hands, he attacks the inside part of the ball, and he rotates his backside. He has good pitch recognition and he looks to drive the ball gap to gap. Eduardo will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

02/10/2019 - College PREP - Delray Beach, FL Eduardo is an athletic C/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2023. Behind the plate, Eduardo shows efficient footwork and covers up well when blocking. He tracks the ball coming in an receives with a firm glove. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, getting good carry through the 2B bag. Setting up square to the pitcher can help Eduardo improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and shows a good rhythm. He works to barrel up the baseball and finishes well, driving the ball to his pull side. Eduardo can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Eduardo keeps his eyes on target and separates his hands on time. He works with a free arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Eduardo shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 68mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 55-60mph with 10-4 break. Gathering to a balance point over the rubber can help Eduardo improve as a pitcher. With four more years to develop, Eduardo has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

01/12/2018 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown Eduardo continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and he has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.69 with accuracy on his throws. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Glove action is soft as he sticks balls well in the zone. He uses his body well through the blocking process but needs to get down sooner and improve lateral movement. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

11/12/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Davie, FL Eduardo is a solid C who will graduate in 2023. Defensively behind the plate, he presents a low target and works around. He has (+) blocking technique and stays directional as he makes accurate throws down to 2B. With the bat, this RHH shows a square setup with smooth rhythm. He stays balanced as he whips his barrel fast through the zone and sprays pitches to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
