Official Scouting Report

  • LHP/1BPosition Projection

01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Eduardo is a LHP/1B prospect who showcased his skills during the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. On the mound, Eduardo gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and finishes with his chest square to the plate. Eduardo operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 65-67mph with 2-8 break. Changeup sits from 74-75mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. In the field, Eduardo makes the routine plays and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate/on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load well and produces solid contact. Overall, Eduardo is a talented prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Eduardo continues to shine on the diamond. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 78-79 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. At the plate, hands are quick (82 mph velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip (82 mph velocity) on his throws. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness.

04/25/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Midland, TX Eduardo is a 2022 LHP/1B. Medium frame athletic build with some strength with plenty of room and time to develop. Primary left-handed pitcher, easy arm with simple/clean mechanics who repeats his delivery well. Throws a heavy ball. 3 pitch pitcher who throws 3 different speeds and shows plus command on all 3 pitches. Attacks hitters with his FB that was up to 77mph with arm side run and ability to locate in/out. Mixed in a CB with 1/7 shape with good depth and a changeup he throws with FB arm speed and good arm side sink. CB was his best secondary pitch during this bullpen. Secondary 1B, starts with a good pre-pitch routine and active feet. Creates good angles with the ability to pick out hops and field through the ball. Easy arm action as he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Accurate/on-line throws with carry and an arm velocity of 82mph. Right-handed hitter, hits from a tall and square stance. Good tempo, with quiet actions, and balance to his swing. Simple load, gets knob to C, with short/square stride with a short barrel path. Contact hitter who sprayed balls to all fields during his BP round with a recorded bat exit velocity of 83mph. 2 years of continued growth and development should give him the opportunity to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
