06/20/2009 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament - Week 2 Edward is a young two-way player on the mound and at 1B with a tall, thick body that shows projection as he continues to physically mature and firm up. Foot speed is well below average and he must get on a speed / agility program to increase foot speed for the next level. Feet are active but heavy on his approach on ground balls, playing high. Glove action is stiff and needs to be presented down and more out front. Defensive abilities at 1B are near average. Arm strength is slightly above average and he must get on a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength, raising velocities. At the plate is where Brunelle shows best displaying above average abilities with solid average power. Hands work on a level plane and show a feel for the barrel to the pull side. Power will increase as he learns to utilize his lower half more efficiently through the swing. He was 2 for 6 with a 2B at the event. On the mound, fastball shows some tail as he uses his tall frame to work on a strong downhill plane, creating tough angles on hitters. Breaking ball is solid average displaying a 12/6 shape with loose spin. Stock on the mound will rise as more arm strength is developed. Edward has abilities with a lot of room to improve.
