01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Edward continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. He improved his foot speed as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 2B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he utilizes his lower half well through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

12/20/2018 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Edward is a coachable 2B/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Winter Classic. In the field, Edward shows smooth, efficient footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic stance and fields the ball out in front with sure hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets his hands activated on time and remains centered with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed which leads to consistent contact and line drives. With four more years to develop, Edward has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

11/11/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Davie, FL Edward showed nice all around improvements during his last workout with The Factory. He ran his best 60 time to date at 8.05 seconds and increased radar velocity to 71 MPH. At SS, Edward has quick/active feet, agile movements, and his hands are soft. He plays through well, has a quick/clean exchange, and throws with accuracy to his target. In the OF, Edward reads the ball well off the bat, he takes good angles, and follows his throws. He has a long/loose arm circle with carry to his cut off man. At the plate, Edward has an open stance, good balance, and a rhythmic swing. He has a fast/short barrel through the ball and uses his lower body. Edward can continue to improve with work on the following.

07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Edward is a versatile SS/OF prospect who works hard and is a great teammate. In the field, Edward plays with an aggressive approach and attacks the baseball. He has effective footwork and covers good ground. Edward presents his glove and fields the ball in a low, athletic position. He has a clean exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from an over the top arm slot. His throws are accurate with good strength across the diamond. As a right-handed hitter, Edward has a balanced setup with a firm front side. He has a fluid rhythm with a good load and square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Edward has a short, direct swing path with a good approach. He is a contact type hitter who has the ability to use all fields. Overall, Edward has the skill and approach on both sides of the ball to give him a bright future on the diamond.

06/04/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Jupiter, FL Edward is a young, 2-way player who plays SS and OF. In the INF, Edward has quick/fluid feet, agile movements, and he fields in an athletic position. He has good pre-pitch actions, takes proper angles to the ball, and throws with accuracy from a short arm circle to his target. In the OF, Edward attacks the ball aggressively, and he takes proper routes to the ball, and has a clean exchange with accuracy to his target. Offensively, Edward has an athletic set-up, a square stride, and good balance. He swings in good rhythm and on-plane, and makes consistent contact. Edward can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
