01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Edwin is a SS/RHP that graduates in 2018. In his most recent outing, he showed improvement with his foot speed as he ran an all time best 60yd and H-1B. At SS, he continues to work from an athletic stance with good body control. He showed a smooth exchange on the DP with an accurate, strong arm. At the plate, he showed rhythm with his swing from a balanced, square stance. He will see himself in the top of the order because of his contact type swing with a middle of the field approach. On the mound, Edwin throws from a 3/4 arm slot with decent arm action. He showed a 3-pitch mix (FB, CB, CH) with the ability to keep hitters off balance. Edwin will see a bright future in this game as he continues to develop physically/mentally.

07/25/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Edwin is a talented two way player that plays SS and also pitches. In the infield he fields out front with sure hands, is aggressive to the ball with good body control, and uses the proper footwork with his approach. He is quick with double play turns and he has a quick exchange making accurate throws across the diamond. At the plate he has a smooth load, strong balance, and a nice rhythm. He has great barrel accuracy and quick hands that generate fast bat speed. He can spray the ball to all fields and showed gap to gap power. On the mound Edwin has a fluid / repeatable delivery and a great mound presence. He pounds the zone with his explosive fastball that has good arm side run and sink. His curve has a sharp break late in the zone and good depth making it a swing and miss pitch. Edwin should be a solid option in the field or on the mound at the next level.

12/27/2013 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic Edwin is a young, athletic two-way player who plays SS/ RHP. As an infielder, Edwin is sure-handed, works through the ball well, and has the proper footwork to be solid at SS. On the mound, he continues to be athletic. He works around the strike zone and has a balanced delivery. As he hones his pitching mechanics and ability to finish pitches, he will make solid strides in his development as a RHP. At the plate, Edwin's hand work quick and directly to the ball, is a strong hitter, and has good pop. Edwin can really improve his ability as a hitter by focusing on his balance, head placement, and using his upper and lower halves together. Edwin is a hard worker who wants to get better every time out and balances his work ethic with an even keeled demeanor.

07/15/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Edwin is an athletic built SS/RHP that can hit. Offensively, he has good rhythm, fast bat speed, and makes strong use of his lower half. At short, he has a controlled tempo, active feet and an athletic fielding position. On the mound, he throws two pitches for strikes - FB at 67 MPH with run and a CH from 52-55 MPH. Overall, Edwin is a strong young prospect that should be ready to make an impact in high school.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
