01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Elgin is a strong/projectable LHH OF who has game changing speed. At the plate, this lefty steps into the box looking to do damage. He has fluid/smooth actions, working back into a strong load/launch position. Barrel delivery is explosive as he fires the bat to and through the zone. A smooth stroke connects and sends the ball on a line with backspin to the deep parts of the park (exit velo = 93 mph). In the OF, he takes a quick first step with great reads off of the barrel. He covers a ton of ground with lightning speed = 6.41. He works behind and gains ground through the ball with strong/accurate throws on-line into his target. Bennett (2022 grad) is a definite watch as he will impress scouts every time he steps onto the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
