03/17/2024 - National Showcase - Greenville, SC Eli continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 1B, defensive abilities are solid as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active and displays proper footwork around the bag and he is a quality receiver. Hands are clean is clean but needs to present earlier and more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open, athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 65-68 mph with arm side run and sink. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

09/10/2023 - National Showcase - Greenville, SC Eli is a 2027 1B/RHP prospect with a big frame at 6'0" 180 pounds. At first, he shows off active feet and does a nice job of squaring up the baseball when fielding. He has good movements around the bag and is a good receiver. His hands are firm and clean when fielding ground balls. He makes throws from an overhand slot with a long arm action and stays accurate to his targets. At the plate, he starts in an open stance and has good rhythm/timing in his movements in the box. He does a nice job of working through the baseball with his lower half and shows off quick hands to the baseball. He stays on-plane to the ball with his swing path and does a nice job of rotating through his finish. He makes consistent contact in the box with a line drive approach. On the mound, he throws from a low 3/4 slot and features a 3-pitch mix. He gathers his balance over the rubber and gets on-time separation before driving to the plate. His arm action is clean and he stays squared to the plate with his eyes on his target. He has a proper stride length and does a good job of rotating to his target when he finishes. His off-speed offerings were solid and he throws strikes with both the breaking ball and CH. His FB showed some run. We are excited to see more of Eli as he continues to develop his baseball abilities!

07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Eli is a class of 2027 1B/RHP prospect who honed his skills at the BF National World Series. In the field, he shows accurate throws and quick exchanges. Showed good footwork and worked through the baseball. At the plate, he showed good balance throughout his swing. Had a very good lower 1/2 turn throughout the swing. Consistently barreled the baseball and had exit velo up to 82mph. Recorded multiple hits in live game action. On the mound, he worked up to 70mph with his fastball. Showed clean mechanics with a loose arm action and some ability to hide the baseball. He didn't allow a hit or a run during game action. Eli is a well-rounded player that we hope to see again.

07/10/2023 - National Showcase - Greenville, SC Eli is a solid, strong 1B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying solid hitting / power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At 1B, he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, fastball showed a 68-72 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 4 years to further develop, Eli has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
