06/20/2022 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (HS) Eli is a tall and lean athletic 1B/RHP in the 2023 class. Scouts were impressed with make up of team oriented, hardworking and high baseball IQ. In the field, he has solid footwork around the bag and is an exceptional target for his defenders. He has a clean pocket and can redirect the ball with quick and loose actions. Working to stay under the ball will allow for hop adjustment and more out in front glove presentation. On the mound, he attacks hitters with composure. Has strike zone feel with his 2-pitch mix. His FB topped at 74 with arm side run. His CB sat 56-8 with 10/4 shape and with a slight grip adjustment, he can create sharp swing and miss actions. At the plate, he has strike zone discipline and a smooth load. He creates line drive actions with power potential. Reached base 6 out of 8 plate appearances, collecting 4 hits and two BB’s. Working to allow the baseball to travel will allow him to use the whole field and become even more of a tough out. Overall, Eli is a solid two-way player who will make a fine addition to a college roster very soon.

04/03/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Charlottesville, VA Eli is a good looking (6’2/155) 1B/P in the 2023 class. In the field, he has a squared fielding position and presents his glove well. Releases the baseball from a ¾ slot and is accurate to his targets. Moves well around the bag and creates a wingspan that makes infielders look better. Working on his transfers will help him make the difficult plays as the game speeds up. On the mound, he operates with a 3-pitch mix from an high ¾ slot. His FB topped at 72 and filled up the zone. His CB sat 58-9 with 11/5 shape and was in the zone with consistency. His CH sat 62-3 with FB arm speed deception. At the plate, he begins in a tall stance and gets squared on his stride. Has solid balance and hits off a firm front side. Proves to have gap-to-gap production with an on-plane barrel path. Overall ,Eli has two years to continue to improve his game. Scouts feel he is close to making that happen.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
