04/11/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Manalapan, NJ Eli is a 2022 SS. Athletic build with room to add strength. Primary SS, quick feet who shows solid lateral agility. Creates good angles and has solid glove actions. Quick twitch athlete who can play at the next level. Ranges well, fielded cleanly and shows quick release. Right-handed hitter, hits from even-based athletic stance. Athletic set-up with a controlled load and a flat path who gets good extension with middle approach. Good contact skills who showed ability to spray line drives. 2 years of continued growth and development will bode well for his opportunities to play at the next level.

09/30/2020 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Eli is a lean 2B who has a promising future on the diamond. At 2B, he displays smooth/clean actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft/sure and presents well out front. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and works through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 3 for 8. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

07/28/2019 - College PREP - West Harrison (NYC), NY Eli continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an above average runner at 7.22. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 71 mph. Fastball showed a range of 69-71 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound.

12/09/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Nyack (NYC), NY Eli continues to show a promising future on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. In the MIF, he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 61-67 mph. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action but throws too hard to fastball velocities. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Eli continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 67 mph. Fastball shows a range of 66-67 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows slight cutting action. Stock on the mound will continue to develop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

12/10/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Nyack (NYC), NY Eli is a (5'7"/130) 2-way player as a SS/RHP who graduates in 2022. With the bat, this RHH shows an athletic setup with centered balance. Rhythm is fluid as he takes a hack and barrels the ball up with some pop. At SS, he displays quick/active footwork and is aggressive to come and get the GB. He gathers well, has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws into his target. On the mound, Eli throws a FB and CH from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works to a controlled balance point, maintains fluid tempo and works in-line toward the dish. Continuing to work on the following will help aid in his development on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
