04/26/2015 - College PREP - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Eli is a tall, athletic 1B that will graduate in 2016 with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.34 60 time. He utilizes his quick feet well in his lateral movement, flashing range and works hard, showing a lot of hustle. Footwork around the bag is outstanding and he is a quality receiver at the bag. Hands are soft / clean and he consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt, saving throws. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup and aggressive approach. Hands are quick, generating bat speed through a level swing path. He has big time strength and leverage with plus barrel accuracy as the baseball exploding off his bat when centered, displaying pop to all fields. Eli has the makings of a special type player and will get a ton of looks from the collegiate coaches.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
