07/19/2011 - Interactive Video Program - Carrollton (DFW), TX Eli is a tall, solid 3B / catcher with a tall frame. Defensively, Eli has active feet, playable hands, and he attacks the ball aggressively. He fields in a low position, keeps the ball in front of his body, and his exchange is clean. Eli has a short arm action with average strength and good accuracy to his target. Behind the plate, Eli has quick feet, sure hands, and he looks the ball into his glove. He catches athletically, plays on the balls of his feet, and his exchange is quick and clean. Eli has a short / quick arm with accuracy and strength to his target. Offensively, Eli has a square / athletic set-up, a proper load, and a short / square stride. He has good balance, fast bat speed, and he makes hard contact. Eli swings in good rhythm, he has a line drive approach, and he puts the ball in play. Overall abilities can improve if Eli can work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
