06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Elijah continues to shine on the diamond. At the plate, hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip on his throws.

12/27/2019 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Elijah is a hard working 2-way prospect that was eager to learn and made adjustments at the plate. At the hot corner, Elijah has an active prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and works from the ground up. He has efficient footwork after fielding the ball and makes accurate throws. He needs to continue to be on time with his prep step and improving his first step quickness will improve his range. At the plate, Elijah starts in a crouched and open stance. He has a simple load, attacks the inside part of the ball, and hits off a firm front side. He needs to continue to get to balanced position and rotate his lower half. Staying compact throughout the swing will improve his ability to drive the ball. On the bump, Elijah shows good mound presence and competes on every pitch. He gets his fastball to tail and he has a medium break on his curveball. He separates on time but needs to continue to find a balance point and work down hill in his delivery. Elijah will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/27/2018 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Elijah continues to make impressive strides on the field to improve his game. He impressed with his improvements defensively, showing the ability to make tough plays and long throws at third base. His ready position is athletic and he has quick feet on his first step. His glove is on time and his hands are sure to field, exchanging quickly to throw. Attacking the ball will allow him to pick his hop and get the best bounce. At the plate, he shows gap to gap ability with centered balance and fluid actions. He has good barrel control and makes consistent, square contact for base hits to all fields. Elijah is a young, up and coming player with lots of potential.

06/10/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Monterey, CA Elijah is a strong, athletic, 2-way player who plays 3B and RHP. Defensively, Elijah has active feet, he moves well to the glove side, and he fields in an athletic position. He has a clean exchange, and an accurate arm to his target. On the mound, Elijah has a clean arm circle, he works on a downhill plane, and has good glove side lead with a controlled landing toward home. At the plate, Elijah has an athletic set-up, he loads well, and he swings aggressively. He has good balance, fast bat speed, and a direct barrel though the ball. Overall skills can improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Pre-pitch
2. Play more through
3. Hands
Pitching
1. Finish
2. Direction
3. Long toss
Offense
1. Load
2. More hip rotation

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
