09/19/2020 - Fall Pro Training Experience - NJ (HS) Elijah continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At SS, he displays smooth actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 76-78 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Elijah continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At SS, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / athletic actions. 08/14/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Trenton, NJ Elijah continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and squares up well with his body. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 73 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He slows arm speed on his changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2018 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Elijah continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / clean but will benefit by presenting more out front. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

11/16/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Elijah is an athletic 2023 SS/RHP prospect. Elijah is a competitor and made several adjustments over the weekend at Pirate City. At SS, Elijah has active pre pitch movement, plays through the backhand and makes accurate throws across the diamond. Working from the ground up and following thru on his DP flips will elevate his infield play. At the plate, Elijah has an athletic stance and takes aggressive hacks. He gets his front foot down on time and makes consistent hard contact. Allowing the ball to travel into the hitting zone and keeping his head down at contact will help him balanced through contact longer. On the bump, Elijah gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and is aggressive in the strike zone. Using his backside to drive off the rubber will create more velocity on the FB and keep him directional toward the plate. Elijah will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

08/08/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Elijah is a SS/RHP who will graduate in 2023. Defensively at SS, he hustles hard laterally as he tries to work into a square fielding position on GB's. He has a clean exchange to throw and hustles on every play. On the mound, this RHP gathers over the rubber and keep his eyes on target. He commands his FB for strikes as he delivers from a hi 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action. With the stick, Elijah presents an athletic setup. He takes aggressive hacks through the zone and looks to drive pitches back up through the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Prep step
2. Quicker footwork
3. Develop soft hands
Pitching
1. Work downhill
2. Stay directional towards home plate
3. Finish strong
Offense
1. Develop a load
2. Develop rhythm
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
