12/08/2013 - College PREP - Sacramento, CA Elijah is a well rounded player behind the dish. Defensively, he sits in well and shows good flexion. He tracks the ball into his mitt and sticks it. A clean exchange and quick footwork result in pop times as low as 2.10. He gains ground toward 2B and stays directional. Increased arm strength will only help to lower pop times. At the plate, this righty gets back into a loaded position and waits for his pitch. He has a simple approach and smooth swing. Letting the ball travel deeper in the zone will help him to use all fields. As only a sophomore, Garcia still has time to develop his game.
