01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament One of the most advanced hitters in the 2020 class, Elijah has a rhythmic, natural left-handed stroke that makes solid contact look easy. He times pitches with a hanging stride and uses quick hands and barrel accuracy to handle both velocity and off-speed stuff. Elijah is also an excellent CF defender with a combination of raw speed (6.54 in the 60) and excellent instincts. He gets excellent reads on balls and closes well in all directions. Overall, this is a prospect with a sought-after profile - a top-of-the-order LH bat at a premium middle-of-the-field position.

11/03/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Elijah continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way (6.45 60 time). Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws (90 mph velocity) on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively and shows big play potential. At the plate, he continues to shine. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression (90 mph exit velocity) as he connects with power driving to all parts of the field. With 2 years to further develop, Elijah has a tremendous upside and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches and pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

10/04/2017 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Elijah is an athletic, LHH OF who brings energy to the field. He has a solid all-around skill-set that can make a difference both offensively and defensively. As a hitter, this lefty stands in with and athletic/crouched setup with good balance and a solid base. He tracks pitches into the zone and off of the barrel, squaring the ball up with pop consistently. Hands are quick as he whips the barrel through the zone aggressively and creates good extension through contact. The ball jumps off of his barrel as he sprays to all parts of the field. He battles and proved to be a tough out, going an impressive 8 for 9 with 5 singles, 2 doubles and a triple. Once on base, he's a threat to steal with his speed (6.83) which is a game changer. In the OF, Elijah covers a ton of ground. He takes a quick first step and gets great reads of balls hit to his right and left. Transfer is smooth as he works through the ball and fires accurate throws on a line into his target. Nunez is a coachable player who makes adjustments quickly. This 2020 grad is fun to watch and is surely one to keep an eye on over the next couple of years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
