07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Elijah is an athletic and talented 2022 2-way prospect that worked hard and made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. At SS, Elijah is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and attacks the ball. He anticipates contact off the bat and creates angles to the ball. He needs to continue to field the ball in front of his body in order to have a clean exchange. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Elijah is consistent on both sides of the plate. On the right side, he starts in an open stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and he hits off a firm front side. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and creates back side rotation into the ball. From the left side, Elijah starts in an open stance, he stays balanced through contact, and makes contact to all fields. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and create backside rotation in order to drive the ball gap to gap. On the bump, Elijah gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and has a loose arm action. He throws a high volume of strikes with his fastball, his curve ball has an 11-5 break, and his change up is a good speed differential from his fastball. Elijah needs to be aggressive on the bases and look to take advantage of mistakes by the defense. Elijah will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

04/29/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Phoenix, AZ Elijah is a young, athletic, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Elijah has active feet, he covers ground well, and flashes good range to the glove side. He has a clean exchange, and a loose/accurate arm with carry across the diamond. On the mound, Elijah has a repeatable delivery, a clean arm action, and he hides the ball well. He has a controlled landing toward home and competes in the zone. Offensively, Elijah can switch hit. From the left side, he has a tall/open set-up, a square stride, and he swings aggressively. He can hit to all fields and stays inside the ball. From the right, Elijah has a level swing, good extension, and he hits line drives. Elijah can improve skills with work on the following.

Defense
1. Play lower
2. Hands
3. Accuracy
Pitching
1. Glove side lead
2. Finish
3. Long toss
Offense

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
