10/25/2015 - College PREP - Stillwater (Minneapolis), MN Elliott is a switch-hitting backstop who has an athletic build. Behind the dish, he sits in well with athletic actions and good sway. He works hard laterally around pitches in the dirt working to center the ball off of his chest. Transfer/exchange is quick/smooth as he puts throws to 2B on the bag - pop times of 2.26. Offensively, Elliott currently shows more naturally from the right side. He takes an aggressive hack at pitches he likes, connecting with pop and driving the ball on a line. Engen is a solid prospect who has a ton of upside.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
