09/28/2022 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic (2023) Elyjah is an athletic 2B who showcased his skills during the Arizona Fall Classic. Ran his 60-yard dash in 6.9 seconds. In the field, Elyjah shows athletic actions, with active/efficient footwork, and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws. Made accurate throws to first base with an arm velocity up to 84mph. At the plate, this switch hitter showed good bat to ball skills. From the left side he shows good barrel control and hits into a firm front side. A flat barrel path enables him to hit line drives consistently into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 89mph during BP. From the right side, he made solid contact with a bat exit velocity up to 79mph. He shows better from the left side. In live game action, he showed good awareness of the strike zone and made consistent contact. Elyjah is a solid player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

08/01/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Plano (DFW), TX Elyjah is a SS prospect who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame athletic build with strength present. Ran his 60-yard dash in 6.72 seconds. At SS, good prep to start, with fluid/active feet, and showed ability to play through baseball. Works from right to left as he fields from a low/square fielding position with low funnel. He has a short/quick arm stroke, with ability to throw from multiple arm slots, and creates momentum on his throws. Made accurate and on-line throws, with active feet throughout, and an arm velocity up to 85mph across diamond. At the plate, this switch-hitter hits from an upright and athletic stance from the left side. Simple/smooth swing, with knob to C, and has a high finish. A direct barrel path enables him to hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 89mph. From the right side, he starts with an athletic and square stance. Showed a short barrel path with his weight between his knees at contact. He hit balls into both gaps consistently with a bat exit velocity up to 89mph. With another year of continued growth and development, we foresee Elyjah having opportunities to play at the next level.

12/10/2021 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Elyjah continues shine on the diamond with his baseball abilities at the Academic All American showcase. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active a and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness (7.08 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry (84 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and he maintains balance.

09/03/2021 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) Elyjah is a class of 2023 SS/RHP. He shows good athletic ability and quickness. In the field he does a good job creating angles and working downhill. Shows some ability to throw from multiple arm angles. At the plate, he shows a quiet setup from both sides. Continues to flash athleticism at the plate. Shows a good bat angle and ability to create contact. Elyjah is a talented young player with lots of athleticism.

08/01/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (HS) Elyjah continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Glove action is soft / sure and presents out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness in covering ground in the MIF. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter but projects best as LHH. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 60-63 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

05/23/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Highland Park (DFW), TX Elyjah is a SS who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame athletic build, with strength present and room to fill throughout. At SS, he shows good rhythm to his actions and a good pre-pitch routine. Creates good fielding angles and ability to play behind/through the ball. Showed ability to pick out hops, with some softness to his hands, and fields the ball out front with eyes behind his glove. Throws from multiple arm slots, with on-line throws across diamond, and an arm velocity of 80mph. A switch hitter, from the right side he hits with an athletic and open stance. Athletic setup, with quick hands and late bate whip, as he showed good feel for barrel. Made solid contact and ability to hit balls to all fields. Recorded a bat exit velocity of 76mph during his round of BP. From the left side, he starts with an athletic and open stance. Active hands, who swings with intent, and ability to hit ball to all fields. Showed better from the right side during BP. With continued growth and development, we can see him having opportunities to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
