ADVANCED SWING METRICS BY SWINGTRACKER

Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • LHP/OFPosition Projection

12/20/2014 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 Emery continues to work hard on is game. On the mound, FB now tops out at 68 mph as he fills up the zone and throws it for strikes. He works in-line toward the dish and throws strikes. Breaking ball has 1/7 shape and compliments his FB well. Working to develop more rhythm and polishing his off-speed pitches will help to improve his effectiveness on the mound. At the plate, this LH swinger shows a balanced approach while getting back into a strong loaded position. Swing is quick as he connects consistently, squaring the ball up. Leveling out his swing path will result in more line-drives. In the OF, Emery hustles into position behind the fly-ball. He secures the ball, has a clean exchange to throw and works in-line toward his target. Following through and gaining more ground will help his abilities in the OF improve. Only a 2020 grad - Emery still has a ton of time to progress on the diamond.

03/02/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Greenville, SC Emery is a 2-way player as an OF/LHP. In the OF, he shows his athleticism as he hustles into position behind the fly-ball and works to catch it at its highest point. He has a clean exchange and works in-line toward the dish. At the plate, this LH swinger delivers the barrel with quick hands and hits line-drives. He likes the pitch on the inner 1/2 and shows some pull-side pop. On the bump, Emery has a 3-pitch coming from a 3/4 arm slot and loose/easy arm-action. He fills up the zone and throws strikes. FB tops out at 64 mph while breaking ball has gradual break. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
