Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/1BPosition Projection

07/07/2019 - Baseball Factory Cleveland All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) Emmitt is a young RHP/1B that worked hard to improve his game out in Cleveland. At 1B Emmitt worked hard to get into a good fielding position. His hands were soft and he made clean exchanges. He made accurate throws with a clean arm action and good backspin around the diamond. At the plate Emmitt has a tall and open stance. He works to get the barrel on plane and shows a gap to gap approach to driving the baseball. On the mound Emmitt showed a 2-pitch FB/CB mix. Learning a CH would help improve Emmitt's repertoire. On the mound he starts square with a small starter step working to a fluid hand separation. He strides in line to the plate with a controlled landing and finishes his rotation to the plate. Emmitt shows the drive to improve, even asking for extra reps at the event. Work ethic like this will only improve Emmitt's game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
