11/01/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Tampa, FL Gastell is a switch-hitting 2-way player as an OF/RHP. In the OF, he hustles and tracks down fly-balls in the gaps. He secures the ball with 2-hands, gathers well and works in-line toward his target. At the plate, he currently shows more naturally from the left side. He tracks pitches into the zone, waits for his pitch and squares it up hitting line-drives. On the mound, Erhiam has a repeatable delivery and maintains good tempo. He works to a controlled balance point, keeps his eyes on the target and stays directional toward the dish. He pounds the zone and throws strikes with all 3-pitches. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
