06/14/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida This athletic OF can cover a ton of ground. He takes a quick first step and moves lightly on the balls of his feet. Transfer is smooth with strong throws through his cut-off man. As a hitter - this righty maintains centered balance with a strong base. Swing is short/quick on a direct path as he drives the ball to the gaps with pop. An all-around solid prospect - Eric's tools will translate well into the next level.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Eric is a tremendous athlete who can absolutely fly (6.50 60 yard dash). He covers a ton of ground and can play anywhere in the OF. He has a smooth transfer and fires strong throws with carry into his target. As a hitter - this righty remains patient with simple/quiet actions. He zips the barrel with plus bat speed through a level path and creates consistent/hard contact. He drives the ball on a line and gets out of the box and down the 1B line quickly. Eric has a special type of player who is one to keep an eye on. He will shine in this only his junior year.

11/15/2015 - College PREP - Pearland, TX Eric continues to show a promising future on the diamond with the makings of a special type player as he continues to develop. He utilizes his tremendous foot quickness as he moves well laterally, covering a lot of ground, and displays plus range in the OF. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls, playing through well with momentum to his target. Hands feet work well together through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and carry on his throws. At the plate, he shows a balanced / squared setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball and shows a feel for the barrel, showing gap to gap pop. Power numbers will continue to improve as he works to load more and use his lower half more aggressively.

06/19/2015 - USA Baseball 17U Championships Eric showed very well in his ability at the USA Baseball 17U Championships with Baseball Factory. Defensively in the OF, he ran another 6.6 sixty, threw 84 on the gun and ran a 4.11 home to 1st. He worked angles well in the OF, glided to make plays, and had a soft glove to secure the ball. He was athletic, light on his feet, and worked around the baseball to gain momentum to throw. He had a clean arm stroke to throw to his targets and went all out for any ball in the air. Offensively, he went 6-17 with 2 doubles, a pair of RBI's, a bunt single and a walk. He was fluid with his launch, balanced throughout the swing, and aggressive to take hacks. He had a short, compact swing and stayed in the middle/oppo with his line-drive approach. In all - Eric is a very athletic player that has the ability to play the game at a high level and has another two years to boost strength and consistency.

01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament This athletic OF continues to show well. Defensively, he tracks down balls hit into the gaps with speed. He works lightly on the balls of his feet and moves well through the ball. With the bat, this RHH has an aggressive approach with quiet/simple actions. He utilizes his strong lower 1/2 with torque generating some pop off of his barrel. He puts the barrel on the ball consistently and gets out of the box and down the line. This 2017 grad works hard and is one to keep an eye on.

11/23/2014 - College PREP - Tomball (Houston), TX This athletic/versatile player continues to shine. A lightning fast 60 (6.66) will turn heads at any level. In the OF, he works fluidly and tracks down everything hit his way with aggressiveness. Exchange is quick/clean as he fires strong throws with carry. At SS, Eric has plus lateral range and can make the tough backhand in the hole look easy. He plays through the ball well and gains ground toward 1B. With the bat, this RH swinger shows good separation working back into a loaded position. He has pop to the opposite field, connecting and driving the ball. He puts the barrel on the ball and scoots down the line, putting pressure on the defense to make the play quickly. An exciting skill-set - Eric will make things happen on the field.

10/01/2014 - Arizona Freshman/Sophomore Fall Classic Eric continues to show very well from event to event with Baseball Factory. Defensively, he displayed advanced reads and jumps on balls, gliding to his spots by taking efficient routes. He has a lot of value defensively, as he can play in the OF and INF with above average ability. Offensively, he has a good idea at the plate, is very selective and is quiet with his actions. He uses the whole yard and strikes the ball with a direct path. He is coordinated with his hands and hips and as excellent barrel accuracy. All in all - Eric is a gifted young player that plays the game hard and stands out as an impact guy.

07/30/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Eric continues to show well on the diamond. Defensively, he moves fluidly with active footwork and works light on his feet. He presents his glove out in front and fields the ball cleanly. Offensively, Eric steps into the box with a purpose. He battles at the plate and is a tough out. He squares the ball up consistently and puts pressure on the defense. Eric hustles all over the field and gives his all every day.

06/16/2014 - College PREP - Houston, TX Eric is a young two-way player (OF/2B) with exceptional speed - 6.75 sixty - that will graduate in 2017. In the outfield, he was quick with his feet and aggressive to make plays. He showed excellent body control, getting to a good fielding position and gaining ground to throw with momentum. He showed signs of carry to his arm with potential for more as he works to stay in-line with his body (not opening up) through a throwing program. At 2B, he has good lateral range, fields in front, and presents the glove well. He was clean with his double-play feeds and has good upside with his athleticism. Offensively, he allows the ball to travel, explodes late with the hands, and accelerates through contact. He is loose with his actions and was consistently on-time. Overall - Bohnert is an intriguing young player who's middle approach fits his athleticism and middle of the field defensive game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
