12/29/2013 - College PREP - Swarthmore (Philadelphia), PA Eric is a 6'/180 lbs. RHP that will graduate in 2016. On the mound, he throws three pitches for strikes with a heavy fastball from 75-77 MPH. His CB has 11-5 action and is thrown with sharp break. His change-up is also effective - as it is thrown from 71-73 MPH with arm side sink. Mechanically, he has good balance, keeps his eyes on the target and stays directional. More fluidity within his delivery will allow for greater repeatability. Offensively, he hits from a square stance and flashes some bat speed. He has some pull side pop, and will increase his power with added lower half drive. Overall - Eric is a projectable RHP that has three more seasons to hone his pitchability.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
