Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

11/16/2014 - National Tryout - Davie, FL Eric is a very young RHP/3B that continues to show growth from outing to outing with Baseball Factory. Offensively, he tracked well and showed a contact approach. More control and adding strength will improve hit ability and pop. Defensively, he worked out in front and showed decent backhand work. Consistency in his fielding position and a long toss program will allow for higher level play. On the mound, he threw his sinking fastball up to 65 MPH, spun a slider from 58-60, and flashed a sinking change-up from 58-60. More lower half drive and fluidity with the body will increase effectiveness. All in all - Feller is a young prospect that has time to add strength and consistency for high school ball.

07/31/2013 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Vero Beach (Ages 12-14) Eric is a primary 2nd baseman who also pitches. In the infield, Eric has firm hands, active feet, and playable range. He works well to get around the ball and follows his throws with good accuracy. At the plate, he has a squared setup, good load, and takes a short stride. He makes consistent contact and works the ball to all fields. On the mound, he gets to a good balance point, has a smooth delivery, and gets good extension. He finishes his pitches well and shows a good 3 pitch mix. Eric has a lot of potential in the infield as well as on the mound and will be fun to watch as he gets older.

05/27/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Jupiter, FL Eric is a young, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and RHP. Defensively, Eric has firm hands, playable footwork, and he presents his glove well. He has a smooth transition, a quick arm action, and he throws with accuracy to his target. On the mound, Eric has a short arm action, a controlled balance point, and he finishes ready to field the baseball. At the plate, Eric has an open stance, he finds the barrel, and he hits hard to the pull side. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Quicken feet
2. Play lower
3. Quicken exchange
Pitching
1. Lengthen arm action
2. Finish
3. Long toss
Offense
1. Shorten swing
2. More lower 1/2
3. Load / stride

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
