10/17/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Eric continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. He did show behind the plate for the first time at the event. Behind the plate, he shows a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.65 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Glove action is clean as he sticks balls in the zone. He needs to work to get body down sooner to square balls up through the blocking process. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he continues to increase foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
