08/05/2012 - College PREP - Council Bluffs (Omaha), IA Eric is an average sized LHP with good athleticism. He has a long / free arm action, he works to his balance point well, and he has on-time separation. Eric has good direction toward home and he finishes in a complete position. A smoother delivery, better extension, and added arm strength can help improve mound effectiveness. At the plate, Eric has a square set-up, good balance, and fast bat speed. He has a level swing, he makes square contact, and he hits hard to the pull side. Better rhythm / timing and not rolling over the ball will help hitting rise.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
