01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Eric continues to show a prospect on the diamond. On the mound, this righty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. Arm strength has improved as he through top velocity to date at 84 mph. FB jumps out of his hand and shows with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. He works tall and drives downhill, repeating well. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Behind the plate, pop times were in the 1.99 range with accuracy and on line carry on his throws. Feet are active, working in line to his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work inside the baseball as he utilizes all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball jumping off the bat when centered with gap-to-gap pop. Eric will play at a very high level and make an immediate impact, possibly as a two-way guy.

06/03/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Eric showed behind the plate and on the mound for the first time at the event. With flexion and good sway he pockets pitches with a soft/sure mitt. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process and is a wall behind the plate. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter but projects best as a LHH. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped through the zone as he connects with strength. The ball jumps off of his barrel as he crushes it to the gaps. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 77-83 mph with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that well gets outs at the next level. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters, throwing strikes with all his pitches. A talented prospect - he will make things happen both behind the dish and on the mound.

12/11/2016 - College PREP - Thousand Oaks, CA Eric is a strong built, switch-hitting catching prospect who has the talent on both sides of the baseball. Offensively, Eric has a tall setup with a firm front side and a square, on-time stride. He takes a good load with smooth rhythm as he maintains a centered balance. Eric has explosive bat speed and takes a direct swing path to produce hard contact. He has strong hands resulting in line drive results and natural pull power. Behind the plate, Eric has a solid base setup and moves with simple, quiet actions. His footwork is fluid and he moves laterally. Eric's target is low and presentable as he has soft hands and a clean exchange. He has a long, loose arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He has momentum behind his throws and they are online with carry. His POP times ranges from 1.99-2.10 seconds. Overall, Eric has the ability offensively and defensively to become an impactful player at the next level.

12/13/2015 - College PREP - Thousand Oaks, CA Eric is a big, strong, and broad C/3B with an outstanding frame and promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active, working in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times showed a range of 2.04-2.16 with life, accuracy, and on line carry through his target. He will control the running game with his feet / arm. Receiving / blocking skills show as outstanding tools that will play at the next level. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating bat speed through a direct swing path and creates extension. He has strength in his swing and shows a plus feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. With 3 years to further develop, Eric has the makings of a special type player and will be a sure player to follow.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
