03/08/2015 - College PREP - Hightstown, NJ Eric is a RHP who has a projectable frame (6'0"/185). On the mound, this righty has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot and long/loose arm action. FB shows slight arm-side run while cracking the mitt at 84 mph. Breaking ball has 12/6 shape with sharp/late break showing to be a solid out pitch. He works to a tall balance point, maintains level shoulders and drives downhill toward the plate utilizing his lower 1/2 well. Changeup has sink as he throws it with FB arm speed (70-74 mph). He pounds the zone and works both sides of the dish. Offensively, this RHH shows a balanced approach with rhythm to load. He whips the barrel to and through the zone connecting and driving the ball on a line. A shorter/more direct swing path will result in increased pop off of his barrel. This 2016 RHP will attack hitters and compete on the mound.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
