09/18/2011 - College PREP - Oklahoma City, OK Eric is a big, solid, 2-way player who pitches and plays 1st base. On the mound, Eric has a loose back arm action, a tall balance point, and smooth separation. He works in good rhythm, keeps his shoulders level, and he has good direction toward home. Eric keeps a still head, he lands in a square position, and he finishes athletically. Mound effectiveness can improve if Eric can lengthen his arm action and continue to add arm strength. At 1st base, Eric has firm hands, fluid feet, and he moves well to the glove side. He fields in a square position, makes plays, and his exchange is quick and clean. Eric has a long / loose arm action, and he throws with accuracy and consistency to his target. Quicker feet and added arm strength will help improve defensive tool grades. At the plate, Eric is a strong hitter with an open stance and fast bat speed. He makes hard contact, he can spray to all fields, and he has pop to all fields. Staying on the ball and not collapsing his back side can help offensive numbers spike.
