Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • IF/RHPPosition Projection

12/12/2021 - All-In Membership - Union City, CA Erik is a SS/RHP prospect in the class of 2022. He shows off decent athleticism and strength throughout his initial testing. In the field, he uses active feet to help create range for him self. Fields from an athletic position and does a good job securing the baseball throughout the transfer process. Has a clean arm action with multiple arm slots. Throws are on line and accurate across the infield. At the plate, he shows a level bat path and extension through the baseball helping him create square contact. Does a good job of utilizing the whole field and working gap-to-gap. Shows some opposite field power potential. On the mound, he delivers all pitches from a high ¾ and ¾ arm slot. Does a good job of showing clean mechanics with good direction towards the plate. Consistently gets on top of the baseball and works downhill. Fastball is his best pitch, was 71-73 MPH and showed some arm side run. Curveball was best secondary and was 61-64 MPH with 11-5 shape. Could see great improvements on the mound with added arm strength. Erik is a well-rounded player with a season left to continue to develop before entering college.

02/21/2021 - All-In Membership - San Jose, CA Erik continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At SS, feet are active as he plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he continues to increase foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

11/08/2020 - All-In Membership - San Jose, CA Erik is an athletic SS who will graduate in 2022. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball, working around, and plays through with his body. Glove action is firm but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he improves his foot quickness. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an uphill swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently with proper weight transfer. With 2 years to further develop, Erik has potential with time and room to progress his game.

12/04/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Sacramento, CA Erik is a young, 2-way player at 2B/OF. At 2B, he displays quick footwork as he works to get in a low fielding position. He has good glove awareness as he's aggressive on every play. In the OF, this righty takes a quick 1st. He catches the ball at its highest point with a clean exchange to throw. At the plate, Erik stands in with an athletic setup. He stays balanced throughout his swing as he extends through contact. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
