01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Esteban continued to show as a prospect at the UAAAPS Tournament. In the field, Esteban shows active footwork and centers the ball in the middle of his body. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front. He has a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws which allows them to be on-line across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and leads well with his lower half, producing solid contact to all fields. Esteban is a skilled prospect who has upside on the diamond.

07/28/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Esteban is a talented SS/2B prospect who has an athletic build and graduates in 2019. As a right-handed hitter, Esteban has a square stance with a centered balance. He has fluid rhythm with a good load and square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Esteban shows fast bat speed with quick hands and a direct swing path. He produces hard contact and can drive the ball to each gap with power. In the field, Esteban plays with fluid footwork and agile actions tracking the baseball well. He presents his glove and fields the ball in an athletic position. Esteban has a quick, clean exchange leading into a long arm action throwing from an over the top arm slot. He plays with good momentum through the baseball showing strong, accurate throws across the diamond. Esteban had a great performance at Pirate City and earned the MVP award as well. Overall, Esteban has an above average skill set on both sides of the ball giving him high upside to be a difference maker at the next level.

01/29/2017 - College PREP - San Diego, CA Esteban is a talented shortstop prospect who has an athletic build and high upside. As a right-handed hitter, Esteban has an athletic, square stance with a firm front side. He has a smooth load with a short, square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. He shows fast bat speed with an on-plane swing path. Esteban gets good extension at contact producing square contact. He is a line drive type hitter who has the ability to drive the ball to each gap. In the field, Esteban plays with effective footwork and good body control covering good ground. He fields the ball in a low, athletic position with soft hands. Esteban has a clean exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He has a smooth double play turn. Overall, Esteban plays the game athletically and has the talent to take his game to the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
