08/11/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Ethan is an athletic, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and catcher. In the INF, Ethan has active footwork, agile movements to the ball, and he fields in an athletic position. He has clean hands, a smooth exchange, and he delivers the ball with accuracy and consistency across the diamond. Behind the plate, Ethan has quick feet, firm hands, and he takes good angles to block. He uses his body properly, and has a quick release to 2nd base. At the plate, Ethan has a square stance, a short stride, and good balance. He makes level/consistent contact, and hits hard to the pull side. Solid abilities can get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
