01/12/2018 - 2018 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Ethan continued to shows as a prospect while at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Ethan shows efficient footwork an is very agile ranging to the ball. He fields in an athletic position and makes on-line throws across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and finishes with a firm front side in his lower half. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed which leads to consistent contact to his pull side. On the mound, Ethan shows a solid delivery as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm action and extends through on his release, finishing square to the plate. Ethan has a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 71mph. Breaking ball sits at 61-62mph with 11-5 break. Ethan is a skilled prospect with upside on the diamond.

07/18/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Ethan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. At 3B, he displays proper footwork and moves well laterally. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but will benefit by playing through with his body. Range will continue to increase as he increases foot quickness. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 59-61 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with early break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is makes adjustments and is a great team player.

06/19/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Katy (Houston), TX Ethan is a strong, athletic OF/3B. Defensively in the OF, he shows athletic actions as he works around the GB. He hustles well laterally getting behind the fly ball and fires throws that carry to his target. Over at 3B, he takes a prep step and takes active routes to the baseball. He fields GB's in a low/athletic position and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. At the plate, Ethan is a strong contact hitter with fluid rhythm. He explodes his lower 1/2 through, swings fast through the zone and drives pitches with solid contact. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Better backhand footwork
2. Quicker exchange
3. Play through more
Outfield
1. Quicker 1st step
2. Develop soft hands
3. Accurate throws
Offense
1. Level out swing path
2. Drive pitch the other way

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
