08/04/2016 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown Ethan is an athletic SS/OF prospect who continues to get better. He busts it down the line with great wheels to put pressure on the defense and turn routine plays into hits. He has natural instincts at the plate with loose hands to load and launch through the zone. He shows pop to the pull side, turning on pitches on the inner half. In the field, Ethan takes efficient angles to the ball, extending his range. He plays through to field, gaining momentum to his target on throws. Fielding the ball out front is the final step to becoming a complete defender. Ethan is a solid young player and we look forward to watching him progress.

05/08/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Tampa, FL Ethan is an athletic 2-way player as a SS/OF. At SS, he shows active prep and hustles into a square fielding position behind the GB. He presents his glove out in front, gathers well and has a clean exchange to throw. In the OF, he takes a quick first step with solid routes to track down fly-balls. He secures the ball with 2-hands, gathers well and works in-line toward his target. As a hitter - this righty shows a balanced setup with rhythm to load. Quick hands whip the barrel through a level path as he looks to drive the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
