Official Scouting Report

10/06/2021 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Ethan is a OF/RHP in the 2024 class. Defensively, he displayed an explosive first step which gave him good range in the outfield. He has improved his footwork but angles to the ball could still benefit from extra work. Offensively, Ethan exhibited a nice loose and relaxed approach which allowed him to find barrels and hit line drives all over the field. On the mound, he showed decent mechanics with the ability to find the strike zone often and you could see the competitor in him on the bump. Overall, Ethan continues to gradually get better and with that steady improvement we are excited to see what his future holds.

02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - West) Ethan is a RHP/SS prospect who showcased his skills during the Opening Day Classic. In the field, Ethan makes the routine plays and works to make accurate throws to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Ethan field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets into a small load and drives through well with his lower half. He gets good extension through the ball with plus barrel control, producing solid gap to gap pop. Ethan can create more consistent contact by working a smoother rhythm into his load. On the mound, Ethan works through a deceptive motion and stays inline toward the plate, driving his back leg through. His fastball tops out at 68mph. Long tossing can help Ethan build up his arm strength. Overall, Ethan is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Ethan is a projectable 2024 2-way player (SS/RHP) who shines in a variety of ways on the diamond. At short, he showed off his arm with a 75 mph arm velocity paired with an accurate arm. Not only did he impress at short, but his tall set up, activated load, and center balance would help him make hard contact in all of his rounds. Ethan stepped on the mound and showed off his command with his fastball. His CH also showed well with great arm spreed. Overall, Ethan is a solid 2-way prospect that projects as a SS but can certainly get it done on the mound, we are excited to see where this game takes him in the future.

10/14/2020 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Ethan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. He loads his hands back into the drive position, he creates power with his lower half, and he has fast hands. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and improve his contact consistency. On the bump, Ethan gathers over the rubber, he separates on time, and he rotates toward the plate. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
