01/27/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Houston, TX Ethan worked out on the mound during his last workout with The Factory. On the hill, Ethan stands over the rubber well balanced and has a free arm action. He separates on time, lands with a proper length stride toward home, and he competes in the zone with his pitches. At the plate, Ethan has a square set-up, a short stride, and he makes hard contact. He gets the bat through the zone with some pop and taps into some lower body. Ethan can get better with work on the following.

Pitching
1. Finish
2. Wind-up
3. Off-speed
Offense
1. Lower body
2. Rhythm
3. Barrel accuracy

01/06/2019 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Ethan is a young SS/OF prospect who will graduate in 2023. At SS, Ethan gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and works to make accurate throws to his target. Increasing his lateral range can help Ethan improve as a SS. In the OF, Ethan fields the ball with soft hands and works to make accurate throws to his target. Making a quicker exchange can help Ethan improve as an OF. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He maintains center balance and works to barrel up the baseball. Ethan can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. With four more years to develop, Ethan has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
