12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Ethan is a 2025 OF/RHP who showcased his talents at the BF Recruiting Classic. In the OF, he starts from an athletic position, has quick feet, and works behind the ball well. He fields from an athletic position with hands out front. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and has accurate throws with a 84 mph raw velocity. On the mound, Ethan showcased 3 pitches. He has a FB that sits 78-79 mph that he was able to consistently throw for a strike. He also had a CB with sharp break that he was able to throw in all counts and a CH that has good run. During the game, he threw 3 innings picking up 5 strikeouts and not allowing a single walk. At the plate, he has an open stance, a comfortable hand slot, and a controlled load. Ethan has a good lower ½, smooth swing path, and showed consistent hard contact in batting practice. In the games, Ethan played the game fast and at a high level. He showcased some pop with a homerun and good feel for the basepaths picking up a pair of stolen bases. We foresee that Ethan will continue to catch the eyes of scouts both on the mound and at the plate.

09/10/2023 - National Showcase - Chandler (Phoenix), AZ Ethan is an OF prospect who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame athletic build with strength present. Ran his 60-yard dash in 7.2 seconds. In the OF, he starts with quick feet and ability to cover ground in all directions. Good 1st step reads enable him to create good angles. Adjust to ball in flight with a 1-hand high catch. Clean transfer, with a quick arm action, and an arm velocity up to 84mph. At the plate he hits from an athletic and open stance. Athletic setup, with intent in swing, and ability to deliver the barrel. He hits into a firm front side and gets on-plane early. Hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 77mph during his round of BP. With 2 years of continued growth and development, Ethan should have opportunities to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
