12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Ethan is an athletic 2022 2B/OF prospect. At 2B, Ethan has active pre pitch movement, creates angles to the ball, and presents a low/early glove. Continuing to work from the ground up and exchanging the ball in front of his body will allow him to get into a strong fielding position. At the plate, Ethan loads his hands into the drive position, attacks the inside part of the ball and get extension through contact. He uses the lower half and has good bat speed. Continuing to have simple stance and a middle approach will allow him to drive the ball gap to gap. Ethan is a hard worker and has tremendous upside. He will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

08/20/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Ethan continues to improve his skills and is a stud at the 2B/OF position. Defensively at 2B, he shows active/smooth footwork as he works into a low/athletic fielding position. He has a clean/quick transfer, makes accurate throws and plays through the ball towards his target. In the OF, he takes solid routes as he tracks down fly balls. He stays low and is aggressive to the ball and has a cannon for an arm. With the bat, Ethan displays fluid rhythm to load. He whips his barrel fast through the zone and sprays pitches to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

He stays behind the ball and makes accurate throws to his target. At the plate, he displays a sound lower half. He takes a direct approach to the ball as he drives pitches with power to the opposite field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
