01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Ethan raised arm velocity to 79 MPH and ran his best 60 to date at the Pre-Season AA. Behind the plate, Ethan has efficient footwork, he sits in low and athletically, and he presents his glove well. He tracks the ball deep, blocks and receives well, and throws with pop times as low as 2.06 seconds to 2nd base. At the plate, this RHH stands in with an open stance, he swings with good intent, and hits with strength to the pull side. He has solid pop in his bat and finishes high. Ethan is a solid catcher with a bright future.

05/16/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Spokane, WA Ethan is a class of 2023 Catching prospect. He features a very physical frame (6’3”). Shows a well-rounded athletic skillset for the catching position. Behind the dish, he shows off good footwork and a clean arm action resulting in pop times as low as 2.07. Does a good job working his thumb underneath when receiving and shows good feel for the strike zone. Quick to his knees when blocking and moves well laterally resulting in consistent centering of the baseball. At the plate, he shows lots of intent in the swing. Starts in a clean athletic stance. Good balance throughout the swing. Shows pop to the pull side. Does a good job of getting on plane early in the swing. Ethan is a good prospect with physical attributes that should allow him to play at the next level with continued development.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
