01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Ethan is a RHP/3B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Ethan gathers over the rubber and shows fluid hand separation. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Ethan shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph. Breaking ball sits from 60-61mph with 11-5 break. In the field, Ethan makes the routine plays and gets rid of the ball quickly, working to keep his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a centered stride. He gets into his load on time and takes a level swing, leading to solid contact. Overall, Ethan is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

07/06/2018 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Ethan pitched and played 3rd base during his time at the Cape. He showed improvements at both positions as well as at the plate. On the mound, Ethan has a clean arm action, he keeps his eyes on target, and works well to his balance point. He has a controlled landing toward home plate, lands in a square position, and he increased his velocity to 71 MPH. Defensively, Ethan has efficient footwork, he moves well to the ball, and keeps it in front of his body; throwing with strength to his target. At the plate, Ethan has athletic actions, he swings in good rhythm, and stands in well balanced. He has fast bat speed, a direct barrel to the ball, and makes square/consistent contact. Ethan is very coachable and a team player who makes adjustments.

02/18/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Tyler, TX Ethan is a young, solid, 2-way player who pitches and plays 3B. On the mound, Ethan has raw abilities showing some balance and on time separation. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
