09/26/2021 - All-In Membership - York, PA Ethan has shown tremendous improvements since his last event. He ran his best 60 to date at 7.15. Defensively, he continued to show smooth actions with flexibility to get in to a low fielding position. He has fluid footwork and good agility to cover ground. Offensively, Ethan has a balanced stance with smooth rhythm allowing him to be on time for pitches. His hips and hands stay connected throughout his swing to make hard/loud contact.

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Ethan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 2B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting / power potential through an open / athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop.

09/01/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Ethan showed a spike in arm strength to 69 MPH, exit velocity to 72 MPH, and he ran his best 60 to date at 8.07 during his last workout. At 2nd base, Ethan makes plays consistently through clean fielding angles. He keeps the ball in front, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy and direction to his target. At the plate, Ethan has a square stance, a short stride, and he swings in good rhythm. He has good feel for the barrel and shows the ability to work the ball to the opposite field. Hitting grades also improved to 40's at the workout.

07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Ethan showed hard work, improvements, and good hustle during his time in Pirate City. Defensively, Ethan has efficient footwork to the ball, he covers ground well, and keeps the ball in front of his body. He fields out in front, has a clean exchange, and throws with a high arm slot to his target. Offensively, Ethan has a good set-up, he tracks the ball well, and hits with strength in his swing. He can spray to all fields, and makes consistent contact on the barrel.

07/10/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Ethan is a young (2022 grad) 2-way player as a 2B/C. Defensively at 2B, he hustles into a square fielding position and tracks the GB into his mitt. He gathers well, plays through the ball and gets rid of it with a quick transfer/exchange. Behind the plate, Ethan sits in well and sticks pitches in the zone. He moves well laterally and works to body up pitches in the dirt. As a hitter, this righty shows an athletic setup with centered balance. He takes an aggressive hack through a level path and sprays the ball to all parts of the field. Continuing to work on the following will help him to develop his skill-set.

1. Arm strength (long toss)
2. Glove presentation

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
