11/03/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Ethan is an extremely talented 2-way prospect (3B/RHP) with some of the most impressive tools in the class. At the UA Baseball Factory Futures Texas event he showed off an impressive 102 mph raw arm strength and a 98 mph exit velocity. His present strength is evident on his 6'2"/218-pound frame and he uses it to generate easy pull power at the plate. His RH stroke is controlled and he generates serious bat speed through the hitting zone with the appearance of minimal effort. The ball jumps off his bat. Ethan does show good strike zone discipline and flashed some instincts on the bases in game play as well. Defensively, he is solid at 3B with dependable hands, a clean exchange/release, and obviously plenty of arm across the diamond. That arm was at work on the mound too, where Ethan sat 92-94 with a heavy fastball. He has a fast-paced delivery and attacks hitters with a FB/CB/CH 3-pitch mix. He opens a bit early in his delivery seemingly giving hitters a clean look, but they don't react well to his lively fastball or breaking ball with 3/4 tilt and some depth. Overall, Ethan is a standout 2-way prospect in the 2020 class and merits close attention.
