12/20/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Ethan is a big-bodied 2022 3B prospect. At the hot corner, Ethan has an active prep step, works behind the ball, and shows the ability to field laterally. He throws from multiple arm angles and makes accurate DP feeds. Continuing to present a low/early glove, working from the ground up, and fielding the ball out in front of his body will allow him to be a consistent fielder. At the plate, Ethan Starts in a tall stance, and gets his front foot down on time. He has a middle approach and makes hard contact to all fields. Continuing to have a loose grip, and loading the hands into the launch position will allow him to get his hands to contact on time. Ethan made several adjustments with the backside during BP with coach Busby. He is a coachable player with a great attitude. Continuing to work on mobility and agility drills will elevate his game to the next level. We hope to see Ethan's progress in the future.

11/09/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Ethan is a hardworking 3B prospect who graduates in 2022. In the field, Ethan has an effective setup and good first setup covering solid range. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a square position. Ethan has a clean exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. His throws are consistent across the diamond and he is developing arm strength. As a right-handed hitter, Ethan has a tall setup with a centered balance. He has a short stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. He has an aggressive approach with a direct swing path producing square contact. He keeps his hands loose with good rhythm throughout his swing. He is a line drive type hitter who looks to put the ball in play. Overall, Ethan plays the game the right way with a well-rounded skill set and potential to get better with development.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
